Just now, TV is showing the latest round of "Czech Idol" music show. Most of the songs are performed in English. Also, most of the singers clearly don't understand English and learned the lyrics by memorizing their phonetic spelling. Also, my head hurts. But teenagers are happy because they hear English.
Exhibit A: In the previous round, one of the singers performed the song "Cabaret" and pronounced the word "Cabaret" as "Kabared". Every time it appeared in the song.
Exhibit B: The song "On my head" from Czech singer Dan Barta from the soundtrack of the latest Czech movie "Snowboardaci" ("The Snowboarders") is very popular and is played on the radio several times each day. Of course, the movie is targeted to teenagers and thus, the lyrics are in English. Please listen to the full MP3 of the song here and explain to me what the lyrics are supposed to mean.
If I understand it correctly (which I cannot say for sure), the refrain goes like this: "When I am standing on my head, you are crazy smiling. Now we don't have it, we are mad, guarantee speedy romancing."

Rozum a chtíč nemohou být v opozici natrvalo.
Well, I played the song you've posted and I thing he's really singing "When I am standing on my head...". It seems your english is pretty good. Maybe you should try translating some movies.
Jako cvičení bych na úvod doporučil zkusit přeložit některé texty J.A.R. z češtiny do angličtiny. =)
That song is so insane. Sounds like someone took an English song, translated it aloud to a computer program that couldn't distinguish one word from another, and then it was printed off and sung by a person who didn't know any English and therefore didn't realize it was total gibberish. It almost makes sense. I want it to make sense. But it doesn't really make sense.
...each day. Of courset, the movie...
mělo být buď of course což by byl pouhý překlep, nebo by to mohlo být off corset - bez korzetu, jako zábavná slovní hříčka vhodně doplňující nesmyslnost zmiňovaných písničkových textů
podle novy je to
/: when I am standing on my head
you are crazy smiling
now we don't have it, we are mad
go round this speedy romance :/
ale smysl to asi porad nedava...
It doesn't matter if the lyrics make sense. The teenagers love this song and that's the only important thing.

The english is quite mad but it is understandable, though you need helluva imagination. :) But its good that he does a phonetic way of singing since most of the czech english enabled people have a terrible accent and that sucks much much more. Listen to Aneta Langerova for example. Anyway, the song is great, i love it, and if ya dont like it do me a favour go and fuck youself.
