The Yes Man

Salvador Dali on "What's My Line" game show. (Real, not any kind of fake / joke.) The audience laughs because they see him and know who he is.

  2. I'm still not getting, what is so funny about this kind of "inkognito show" and I wouldn't beleive, the format is so old.

And what was so funny here ? Can anybody try to explain me ?

  3. To the confused anonymous:
well, sure, I'll give it a shot - there is usualy nothing funny about this format, but the fact, that the guest, who is I think usualy just some Tom, Dick or Harry, was this time more famous then all of the stars put together, is on its own quite humorous. Plus Salvator could give a "Yes" answer to almost anything, because he had such a large scope (The full renaissance bit, really; as Arthur Tree/Eric Idle would say). Also, when they ask him, if he is a "leading man", and he says "yes"... Yeah, I'm not actually sure, if he had any idea, what was going on there.
What I did not get, is how they came up with the moustache thing and the final correct guess... It must have been shot at a time, when Dali was really hot...

  6. gloster: Well... I think they did know it wasn´t Tom, Dick or Harry. I guess it was one of those celebrity rounds. Therefore those blindfolds.

  7. To Rimmer (A.J.): Well, yeah, you are probably rigt... On the other hand, from a broader and methaphorical point of view, compared to Dali, I'd say even those celebrities belonged to the Tom&Dick&Harry department most of the time...
This vid is just so good, I keep watching it over and over. Dali is so cool... And the aura of charm and the wit the guests possess...I can't help it, but the older days just seem to have had so much more style.
